What Purrlog does with your cat’s information
Updated 12 October 2026
Purrlog keeps everything on your phone. There are no accounts, no servers, no ads and no analytics, so we never see your cat's information and we have nothing to sell or share.
What Purrlog stores
The app saves the following on your phone, and only on your phone:
- Your cats' profiles: name, birthday, breed, sex, whether they are spayed or neutered, an optional daily food target and an optional photo.
- Your logs: meals (amount, type and notes), water, litter box visits and weight, each with the time you recorded.
- Your medicines: the name, dose, schedule, start and end dates and notes you enter, and each dose you mark as given or skipped.
- Your vet and check-ups: the clinic, vet, phone, email and address you enter, and the appointments and vaccinations you add, with their dates and notes.
- Your settings: theme, units, which alerts and reminders are on, and the times for reminders.
What we collect
Nothing. Purrlog does not send your information to us or to anyone else, and the app does not need an internet connection to work. We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics tools, and we do not know who uses the app.
Permissions the app may ask for
- Camera: only if you choose “Take a photo” for a cat's picture. The photo is saved inside Purrlog.
- Photos: only the single picture you choose, through your phone's own photo picker.
- Notifications: only if you switch on a reminder, including medicine, appointment and vaccine reminders. Reminders are scheduled on your phone and never go through a server.
- Alarms and reminders (Android 12 and newer): so a reminder can arrive at the exact minute you chose. This is a setting on your phone, and it gives the app no access to your information.
- Files: only a backup file that you choose to export or import.
Backups, reports and sharing
You can export a backup file or a PDF report. Purrlog creates the file and hands it to your phone's share sheet, and you decide where it goes. Purrlog does not upload it anywhere.
If you choose “Email report to vet”, Purrlog makes the PDF and opens your phone’s email app with it attached, addressed to the email you saved for your vet. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app. When you tap Call, Email or Map next to your vet’s details, Purrlog hands the number, address or place to your phone’s own phone, email or maps app; Purrlog itself never contacts anyone.
Backup files are not encrypted, so keep them somewhere private. Once you send a file to another app or service, such as email, cloud storage or your vet, that app or service handles it under its own privacy policy.
Your phone's own backups
Your phone may include Purrlog's data in its automatic backup, such as iCloud Backup on iPhone or Google's backup on Android, depending on your phone's settings. That backup is managed by Apple or Google under their policies, not by Purrlog.
Deleting your data
You are in control. Deleting a cat removes that cat and all of its logs and its photo. In Settings, “Delete all data” removes every cat, log and photo from the app, and uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.
Backup files and PDF reports you exported earlier, and any copies in your phone's backups, are separate and stay until you delete them.
Children
Purrlog is a tool for pet owners and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no personal information, there is nothing about a child for us to hold.
Not medical advice
Purrlog helps you keep records and notice changes. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and its alerts are simple reminders based only on what has been logged. If you are worried about your cat's health, please contact your vet.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and at the same web address, with a new date at the top.
